I'm a self employed web designer and I'm interested in relocating to an affordable home in NC. The area I move to needs to have access to DSL, cable or a similiar high speed internet provider.

I don't need to be near a big city though it's not bad if I am. I can move anywhere pretty much so I want to get the most for my money. Are there areas in NC or any of the states I listed above that have nice homes for around 100k? I have no kids but would like 2-3 bedrooms, in a fairly low crime area.

Try http://realtor.com (broken link) you may fill in different cities and see homes available based on price, ammenities etc. It's MLS for the general public and covers the entire country
Good luck!

Linda,
$100,000 is a low price point for a single family home in the Triangle.
If you consider a townhome, you may get something very livable and broadband is not a problem.
