Good luck tonight to the Canes. I’ll be pulling for my Blues, but wouldn’t be surprised to see this game end up 5-2 Canes or 5-2 Blues. Just no idea what kind of Blues team is ever going to show up, and unfortunately Jake Allen is terrible...always.

We'll have McElhinney in net, so hoping he is fresh and has some bounce.
No comfort from the boxscore. Season-to-date save percentages for the three Canes goalies are .880, .884, and .893. That's actually worse than last season. Either these numbers get better quickly, or the Canes had better score more. They rank 27th in the league in goals per game.
One could argue that the goalies have bad numbers because the Canes rank 29th in the league on PK, but the argument can be made other way around.
.870 or so save percentage going in..... 38 shots faced... 37 saves. The Canes sure are excelling at making bad opposing goalies look good.
Blues are a Top 5 scoring team in the NHL, so it’s not surprising the Canes would give up 4 goals. I actually thought the Canes D was very effective and had the Blues confused all night. It appeared to me that the Canes are one of those teams where the quantity of shots doesn’t equal quality. They rarely screened Johnson (did on the PP goal they scored), and most shots were from distance or clean looks for the Blues goalie. I know it’s cliche, but they have to get bodies in front of the net.

And, they know that too. It's frustrating to watch sometimes.
Is there a stat for hitting the posts? We seem to have a knack.
This is getting really old. 4th straight season outshooting the other team and still losing by sometimes 2 or more, but almost always in regulation.
I don't think RBA can handle this head coaching gig, I really wish they could have found anyone else at this point because it's going to be a bad taste in everyones mouth when they eventually have to cut ties.

That's just it. The four goals given up didn't surprise me at all. It's the fact that we didn't score anything other than the one goal. But it appears that the Canes are shooting for the sake of shooting rather than having a strategy for getting a good look at the net.
