“There is a ton of interest as Bob has illustrated but the ask is going to likely include two pieces off the roster. My sources indicate it could be a top four defenceman along with a top-nine forward because the Toronto Maple Leafs believe to contend for the Stanley Cup, they’d have to add some key pieces and that forward would be very crucial along with a defenceman so it’s not an easy ask.”
Not saying the Canes would want to meet that price, but what would it take? Faulk or Pesce + ? for Nylander?
I doubt they would accept Rask, but what about Martinook or Wallmark?
Two months ago I thought Faulk was the obvious D to be traded, along with whatever 3rd-line winger the Canes could get Toronto to take. But although Faulk has scored only 1 goal this season and is still prone to defensive lapses, he is playing better than last season and has a +4. I can't imagine the Canes would part with Slavin, despite his inconsistency. Toronto probably wouldn't take TVR or Fleury, so that means Hamilton, de Haan, or Pesce if the Canes don't want to part with Faulk. Given that the Canes are short on scoring, my guess is they'd offer de Haan or Pesce.
As to the forward that goes along with the D, it could be Rask, PDG, McGinn, Wallmark, Martinook, Roy, or Kuokkanen.
It's time to end the Darling experiment. He has yet to put together consecutive wins and he's been given every opportunity to do so. I'm also done with the Brind'Amour coaching experiment. I feel like I'm watching another Bill Peters team, the results are exactly the same.
I feel like we've seen this movie, and I don't like the way it ends.
I really believed the moves over the offseason would help, but maybe they just didn't go far enough.
I told my wife before the game that 4 days off was 2 too many.
They need to slap the Devils around today.

Hard to argue...
We do hang him out to dry a bit, and RBA says as much.
But, jeezeā¦.

I said the same thing on social media. It's ridiculous at this point.
