Mike, if you had to target one person in trade today, who would that person be?
Mark Stone. $$$$. Whew... and a rental.
Zucker would be OK. Under contract through 22-23.
But, I want for anyone to fit into the room, which seems to be functioning very well.
I'm not bothered if we stand pat. Ride these boys into the playoffs.
I wouldn't have minded being on the receiving end of Mikael Grandlund for Fiala….
I would have loved Granlund or Jason Zucker but I doubt Paul Fenton (Wild GM) wanted to deal w/ us again after the Nino trade. Outside of those two, there wasn't really anyone else I was interested in that made sense.
So, while standing pat isn't always the best course, selling the farm for rentals isn't an option right now.
In recent years, the Hurricanes have, for lack of better word, choked when a chance to move up in the standings presented itself.
Tonight is yet another opportunity. If the Canes win vs. the Kings and Pittsburgh beats Columbus (in regulation), then the Canes will move into 3rd in the Metro.

Since that trade, there's a Minnesota statewide warrant for Don Waddell's arrest. "Grand Larceny."

Let's see what this team is made of this year.
"It's different this year," he said in a hopeful voice.
Great win. Hope Faulk and Ferland are okay, at least Svechnikov came back on the ice.
