The Wegmans I went to in PA had live music outside of an area you could sit down in and eat your prepared foods of several ethnicities.

Road traffic is perfectly manageable, people traffic - still pretty crowded inside and hard to maneuver with a shopping cart. But there is parking and carts and baskets available still.

I went back with my car this time. We went shopping at HT earlier and they didn't have everything so I figured why not?

This is also the 100th store. Wegmans Raleigh is meeting multiple company milestones.

Especially with the Apple crowd. I was at Crabtree a few days ago, and there was a line down the course waiting to get into the Apple store. I assume a new iPhone just came out.

I am planing to go to Wegman's mid-morning one day this week, thinking the crowds will be less. Of course, I thought going to Costco at 10:30 on a Sunday morning was a good idea too.

Note to self, when the Chapel Hill store opens, be prepared for this.

So I finally went inside around 3 PM. The traffic getting in on Wake Forest Road was horrible but it was really easy going around to the entrance off Six Forks Road and there was parking on the street and in the lot as well! It was crowded inside but about what I expected based on photos earlier - more so for the prepared food and made worse since there were lines for stuff like the burger bar, seafood, sushi, subs etc.... The grocery side was still crowded but very manageable and there were tons of checkout lines even for the crowds. The selection of the whole store was incredible - I'll have to go back when I don't feel as claustrophobic to check out all they have to offer but you walk right into a huge produce section and the beer/wine aisles are the size of a Total Wine store.

I personally think it lives up to the hype at first glance. I was very impressed. I'll report back though if I ever do some actual grocery shopping as to how prices compare.

Is there a bar there? If so can you drink and shop like at Lowes?
