Currently living in Northern Delaware and thinking about moving to the Raleigh area a few years from now with my husband & (now) 5-year old daughter. We visited the area last fall and really loved Heritage Wake Forest although I'm concerned about my commute to RTP (if I got a job there as an Executive Secretary). Heritage has decent lot sizes, good prices (we're looking in the 450-500K range), nice golf course as well as lots of trees. We also visited Brier Creek, however, the houses did seem a little too close for my liking and the backyards seemed really tiny without much trees. (I'm sure the more expensive homes fare better.) The appeal of having a golf course in the community is nice, however, the membership cost is way out of our league. I'm not sure if there is too much competing with the Joneses also which I something I definitely don't want. We did love the shopping that was right outside the Brier Creek entrance so we'd like to take another look at the area. Does anyone know of any nice communities that are fairly close to BC, that are in our price range and that are similar to Heritage? It's doesn't have to be a golf course community because I'm figuring that there are other public or semi-private courses in the area. Appreciate any feedback! Thanks!

There is a nice community name Ashworth Estates-in Raleigh-no golfcourse but EZ commute to RTP and not far from Brier Creek. They do have a community pool and lot sizes are around .25 acres. I find many people like it there because of location and the homes aren't too old.

I the $400-$500 range there are plenty of options in N. Raleigh and Cary that would be an easy commute to RTP. Do an MLS search for 27612, 27613, 27615, and 27617....

27614 is more North East Raleigh which a lot of people love but I prefer not to go that far east for my commute's sake.
