Hi, We are throwing a party in our backyard and wanted to hire someone to bring their huge grill and grill up the food we provide him/her. Is there a company that does this that is NOT a food truck? Thanks for reading.

I doubt that any respectable cook is going to cook up food that you provide. You may be able to get Joe from down the street, not sure if that's what you're looking for.

Are you assuming we are not getting our meat from the Butcher Shop or Whole Foods??

I don't want a family member or neighbors to cook, I would rather them enjoy the party and yummy food. With that being said, back to the original question.

Thank you, hey_guy, but I'm thinking we need a company so they could bring the grill and also insurance coverage. If I can't find that, then I'll reply back to you. Thanks!

I've never heard of insurance coverage to grill. He has a grill he would take. He hands out business cards too and goes to local competitions.

Anyway just let me know

m378 has a valid point. No assumptions about you, but any professional won't do it. The liability alone is reason enough. No assumptions about you personally, but people are not always educated in food handling, nor are they equipped to handle it properly. The risk of someone getting sick, and the chef getting blamed is just one of many reasons not to do it.

I'm an ex-chef who specialized in catering grilled events. I do them (Gratis) for my company all the time, but i would never, EVER dream of doing it unless I was involved in ordering, buying, transporting, storing and preparing the food.

Nothing personal, but I agree with m378. I would not trust a stranger who would do what you are asking. It just screams that they would not be a responsible, knowledgeable food-professional.

Just my advice, do as you wish. (And of a party of a dozen or more people, you will ALWAYS find someone who is happy to man the grill. It is actually the most social spot in the entire party.)

OK, then, Myghost. What is your company? I see your point.
