My thoughts on Amazon - I think it would be interesting to see what kind of hype occurs if Amazon did actually pick the Triangle. That being said, Amazon has been known for treating its employees like crap, and I don't understand why anyone would want that kind of company here.

Team Apple!

Edit: Oh and I agree with MyGhost. I'm all for the financial benefits, so the selfish side of me is ok with it. I still voted no though.

I cannot vote on this one. Not sure what I think. I'm okay either way, really.

If the Apple news is true you will have the same net result here but it will be measured unlike the crush Amazon opening up a headquarters would create. Your real estate will still double here over 10 years either way. Better get ready for higher cost everything in this region.

I don't think 10k employees is going to double real estate. I have no evidence, but I just don't see that happening.

Lol. We all know the real story with IKEA - Cary got cold feet about the big blue and yellow building.

Of course it won't. But Apple moves here and then so does Facebook across the street to steal employees. Then Google. It's a process that is more realistic. Same end result though.

And the remaining large companies start offering promotions previously denied to employees (for lack of competition) to keep them from walking or have to raise the starting wage for jobs to keep jobs filled, thus further driving up the demand for houses nearby.
