I just filed a claim after I received a letter from DPS. I received a $50.00 check a few months later and now - about a month later, I received a bill from DPS in the amount of $50.00. What a coinky dink. Never again.

I recieved the bill for $50, but have not yet received the $50 check that it claims I should have gotten. Been going back and forth since June and still nothing.

I actually signed the claim paperwork with them back at the beginning of the year. I know the BBB site says they're an upstanding company, but I'm really starting to wonder.

My siding is really starting to look bad, but I don't want to do anything until I get some kind of an answer on whether I'm going to get anything. Unfortunately, the longer I put off fixing the damage, the worse it gets.

Data Processing Services takes back for themselves most of the money you would have gotten. They did their inspection and a while later I got a check for around $400, which was the amount AFTER they deducted for administrative fees or something. Then, I got a bill for $155. I feel like I kinda got cheated. I mean, I guess I got something out of it, but Data Processing Services is getting most of the money out of this settlement.

My advice -- GO DIRECT and tell the DPS people to go straight to you-know-where.

Default Masonite siding class action lawsuit

We chose one of the companies to do the inspection. The money offered is so low. We'd get almost nothing (($150) after they take their percentage. The cost of repair is much higher. And if we want to challenge their offer, we have to hire another inspector for $150. What a racket!!! Has anyone challenged their first offer?
Thanks,
M. Laws

This company is not ligitimate! The person who came to my house in 2007 said there was a class action action suit against the builders of my subdivision (Woodlake in Durham, NC). He went to several houses in the neighborhood and told them the same lie. Now, they sent a check to me, we cashed it to pay for the repairs and now they say we owe them for coming out. I am going to have an attorney look at all of this before I send them one dime!
