Turned over to the station yesterday at lunchtime, thanks to this post, and heard some Willie Nelson. Then today at lunchtime heard some Willie Nelson and then Allison Kraus. Not classic rock stuff other stations are already covering.
East of Greensboro there is a full power station on 95.7-WXRC broadcasting from Hickory and serving the Charlotte area. It has always been sort of an independent rock oriented station.
I somehow missed the news about this new station and just listened for the first time today. What a great station! I haven't heard FM like this in a long time!
I've been digging That Station too and I like how they are keeping the name! I really like how they play things you don't often hear on the radio...not just playing all the classic rock other stations are covering. It's my new favorite. although it doesn't always come in so clear
I couldn't get it at all on the radio down here, so I put the app on iPhone and iPad and listen with headphones mostly. It sounds great. It kind of reminds me of 94.7 WQDR from the '70's before they went to country.
It's my new favorite mainstream station around here. I was still picking it up a few hours out west heading to Asheville over the weekend. Made driving a little more bearable in the dead zone.
Seriously?! I can barely pick it up over the air in Chapel Hill! I usually use CarPlay to stream it from my phone app.
