that makes a lot of sense - I would have guessed some type of sirloin...

I guess I shouldn't say that supermarkets don't have tips - I don't think I've checked anything outside of Teeter and Food Lion.

Maybe I'll start looking around.

I can't deal with Costco, so that's out

or, you could go find a sirloin tip roast - which IS at the supermarkets - and cut it into the size you like and marinate yourself. $4.99/lb at HT right now.

BJ's has good ribs at good prices. I'm sure any wholesaler butcher would be able to provide you with what you need if you went and talked to them ahead of time.

Another vote for Larry's. Probably the only real butcher in Raleigh regardless of what those fancy places want you to think and pay for.

Larry's sells fresh whole fryers in 2 1/2 to 3 lb range which are hard to find. The perfect size chickens for the iron skillet or charcoal grill

hahaha funny you mention that. I bought the smallest 3 I could find at Food Lion a few days ago for the 3-co. house d/t Raleigh and all 3 were 6+ lbs. Boy were they talking junk about the roosters that were bought.
