I was wondering if anyone can help me. My parents just bought a house at Brier Creek but didn't realize how close it was to the airport (they're from NJ). Is it really loud with the planes taking off and landing so close?

Brier Creek is right at the airport. Go to google maps and type brier creek, morrisville, nc and you'll see how close it is. Even if currently is not on flight paths keep in mind new or changed flight routes or airport expansions etc.

I don't live there, but have friends there and often are there to shop....I just don't notice the planes that much. You see them...but that's about it.

Much is going to depend on exactly where their new home is and how sensitive to noise they are in general, but I wouldn't automatically assume the worst.

Technically, parts of Brier Creek are outside the RDU Composit Noise Contour Map, so their home may not have required disclosure, but they will still see and hear planes. Here is a link to the airport information site:

The flight paths do not go directly over Brier Creek, so it won't be as bad as in other parts of the county. Actually, even in locations that do fall within the contour map, the homes have seen good appreciation, and the homeowners just don't seem to notice it after a while.
