More Cary growth!

The public hearing on a proposal for 100 hospital beds 750,000 square feet of office, medical, and institutional uses; 55,000 square feet of commercial uses; 250 residential dwelling units; and 250 hotel rooms generated a lot of discussion from council.

Where is there anything about NIMBY's?

If people didn't see that coming a mile away, then that's their own fault. Any 540 interchange is going to be prime pickings for commercial.

Has anyone heard who would operate the hospital beds? Is this a Duke or UNC project?

I think the NIMBY's were the people in Wessex about the hotel.

The thing on 540....ugh, since it's around the corner from Green Level HS. That is going to cause traffic to get even crazier over there.

Duke University Health Systems, Inc. bought the land in Feb 2017, and submitted the rezoning application in Jan 2018.

So this is not something out of nowhere.

Publix also bought approx. 10 acres land very nearby since 2015, but they have not submitted an application to the town yet.

Current traffic is far from crazy (almost quiet at times), though I'm sure it'll quickly get a lot busier due to tons of new houses and commercial developments. There is a Green Level Church road expansion plan as well.
