Are there any fairs or any fun events going on in the Triangle this Saturday? I'm going to the Ren Faire on Sunday, but I was hoping there would be something neat to check out on Saturday.

Thanks!

Oh yeah, and if you happen to see a bunch of "nerds" running around during First Friday, I *might* be one of them!

All participating art galleries bascially hold receptions. Many of the artists are usually present as well, and some offer snacks and wine in their galleries. You can find info at the link rnc2mbfl provided, as well as the list of participating galleries here: Celebrate First Friday :: Downtown Raleigh Events.

It is basically self-guided, although there is a bike group that meets at the NCSU bell tower and does the "walk" on bikes - this is actually much easier than walking, because there are galleries spread out all over downtown.

For your first time participating in First Friday, you might want to check out ArtSpace, since it is an artists' collective and features many artists concentrated in one building. Another decent concentration is the Carter Building on Glenwood.
