College Football is dumb anyways. Until recently they didn't have a real playoffs, just all those stupid toilet bowl games. NFL should have real a minor league system like baseball does. Not to mention the waste of tax dollars propping up football in public high schools and colleges, and the numerous injuries and brain damage (CTE)
I must say that ABC11 (and Big Weather in particular) did a great job this morning. Even though I'm in Wake County and wasn't affected by all the Tornado warnings, I still watched so that I could monitor whether or not anything would pop up here.
It was a particularly scary scenario because it's a Monday morning at a time when people are going to work and kids are at bus stops. Personally I was glad for the continuous coverage this morning because conditions can change VERY quickly and people need to be able to monitor and prepare as needed.
I'm amazed by how self absorbed people have truly become, from the man in Cary complaining on live news about his power being out, to people complaining that the news stations are broadcasting too much news. Yes, I get that it's inconvenient, but if it helps to save one persons life, isn't it worth it? My parents were evacuated from Wilmington and found it extremely helpful to find out what was going on back home, I'm sure the people who are in emergency shelters with no access to what's going on outside other than radio or streaming TV on their phones were grateful for it as well.
With all that being said, if you move to any part of the country that experiences extreme weather, you are going to have the same thing. In Massachusetts if we were getting a blizzard, it'd be non-stop coverage, because that is their job, to report the news.
