Not sure what your experiences are, but I’ve seen well over 1000 miles of European roads in the last 18 months. A lot of that was France, where I stuck almost exclusively to D roads. According to the link I’ll provide below, there’s over 60,000 roundabouts in France and something like 500 being added every year. I’ve also had significant miles in Spain (over 30,000 roundabouts), Iceland, Switzerland and Germany.

Mostly UK (still part of Europe this week) and Germany, with lesser mileage in Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and Slovakia.

I heard a presentation this afternoon from an unnamed user of this forum about roundabouts (specifically mini roundabouts that can be constructed within the existing intersection with additional right of way).

One point that I had never seriously considered before is that placing roundabouts at highway ramp terminals can reduce (if not eliminate) wrong way travel/crashes.
