SF is a destination for them, the million dollar home prices didn't kick former residents out of their Bay area homes on the street.

Hospitals in Nevada and surrounding states put indigent patients with no where to go upon discharge onto busses to SF so that it can be their problem, not Nevada's/
None of that is true.

What in the world are you talking about. None of this is correct.

Busing homeless is something people pretend to be aghast about but secretly want to happen. It is occurring with more frequency. This isn't some right wing conspiracy - there are active class action lawsuits happening as lawyers seek to take advantage of the situation as well.

I have a hunch the reason for the rise in homelessness in the west is a trifecta of mild weather, benefits, and cost of living. You typically see much less homeless rates in extreme climate locales and in LCOL areas. Most of the CA cities are actually busing people OUT of the area as each homeless costs the city roughly $80k/yr. A $150 bus ticket is much cheaper.

The larger coastal CA cities seem to have a huge problem. The smaller ones from Santa Barbra to Dana Point I didn't really see any. But in San Fran and San Diego they are all over the place. Almost looks like a 3rd world country with all of them lounging around with the strong smell of urine in the air.

I think busing people who are homeless due to high COL and no way to get to someplace they could reasonably afford to live is a really good idea. Busing people with mental problems who need medical care isn't really such a good plan. Helping them makes more sense.

Just got back from Nevada yesterday.....didn't look like they were exporting their homeless to SF or anywhere else.

But how did a thread about the Triangle RE market get do a discussion about west coast homeless trafficking?
