What a beautiful day. I'd like to know if it is now spring even though officially it doesn't come till march 22. I'm tempted to put away my winter clothes, the blankets and flannel sheets. What do you say?

You will need your winter clothing on Saturday so I wouldn't put them away just yet.

I'd check the forecast like others said, it's not even the middle of February aside from that. Last year March was pretty cold too.

Feel bad for the plants and trees my neighbor's tree is in full bloom right now.

Though I can't support this with actual data, I feel like we get these Spring sneak previews every year right around now, get walloped one more time by a dose of wintry weather and then resume the slow steady march towards searing heat and humidity.

But if there's one thing I've learned in my dozen years living here, keep all manner of outerwear ready and check the forecast before heading out for the day.

I feel like this has to be a joke. I mean for one, it's NC. This is what we call "false spring" but I can dismiss this if you're new around here. However, just look at the weather forecast and you'll see that no, winter is not over.

We almost always get some really warm days in Feb but that certainly doesn’t mean winter is over. It can and often does snow in late Feb and March.
