I have an aging parent who can no longer live independently. She will need in home assistance or possibly she will need to reside in an affordable community in the North Raleigh area that can provide assistance.

Any reccomendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

hi north,
the type of care you are asking about depends on the level of need. in other words, what is she able to do for herself--care in the home ususally can be obtained by home health aides. most insurances will pay for aide services but only for a few hours a couple of times a week . there also is a medical alert button that can be useful for emergencies. assisted living is also an option if she's able to do somethings for herself. search on line for assisted living facilities in your area and check them out personally because many vary.
good luck

I've referred a lot of people to comfortkeepers.com or homeinstead.com
I'm not real familiar with the different communities but I know there are several communities that brookdalelivng.com have in the area.
