Of course. Thank you for sharing. I am sure I will be alright once the time comes to make that move. Hopefully I can have a something lined up which of course would put my mind at ease but if it doesn't work out that way, I am sure it will be fine.

Other than rent, your expenses in the Triangle, short term, will be close to your expenses in Brooklyn, give or take 10%. Many transplants complain that food here is more expensive, plus its taxed at 2%. I'm sure gas is a little cheaper, but you'll be driving more. In the short term, you won't have to get new license plates for your car, so its really just rent, food, utilities, miscellaneous expenses, etc. The actual number depends on how frugal you can be, and whether you have any debt you'll have to pay on.

Where is 27613? I'm guessing somewhere in Wake County. Zip codes aren't the best way to identify areas here.

Another thought and opinion would be a better title -- what you want thoughts and opinion about in your post.

/end rant.

Basically the area between Glenwood and Creedmoor, from near Crabtree Valley to Falls Lake.

Millbrook, not Crabtree, but close enough.

Moving and signing a lease without a job seems problematic and not smart. Why not rent a room cheap while you poke around and look for jobs. It's possible you may find a nice job but with an hour commute - that would suck for a year. Plus it will help to conserve cash.

It starts just north of Crabtree Valley Mall. Thanks so much for your input! You're always so helpful and thoughtful.

A year's rent, lights, gas, phone, groceries, car, etc should be a safe amount with no job.

Plus, you can pay your rent up front so you don't have to worry about income.

That is the other option if i do not find a job before moving.

I put 27613 area code because when I was there last summer that is where I stayed and I thought it was really nice. I did not explore the entire state. I am unfamiliar with other areas so if you would like to suggest other areas I would appreciate it

Why not get an extended stay hotel for a month while looking for a job? Then, once a job is secured, a better informed decision can be made about housing location and price.
