Can anyone give me information on any of the Electrophysiologists in the Triangle area? I'd prefer one in the Raleigh area but am very willing to travel to Durham or Chapel Hill. I’m especially interested in the ones who can help control atrial fibrillation (afib) or ablate it.
I am in healthcare IT and regularly work with Cardiologists. Just my two cents: Electrophysiologists are probably one of the highly trained physicians out there. Their training exceeds a lot of specialty physician's training and education. It's pretty lengthy. On top of the regular med school and residency, they also have to do 2-3 years of additional fellowship and education. So if they are not good physicians they get weeded out pretty early. Whoever you find, I am pretty sure he/she is going to be very well-trained. All the best wishes w/the procedure!
Dr. Albert Sun, also at Duke Electrophysiology, I've been seeing him for years. He has a fantastic, experienced group there, lays out all options, and is incredibly personable.
