I have lived in Cary since 1968 - graduated from Cary High, and we are raising our children here. I love this community! It was a great place to grow up - there are TONS of family activities. We're members of First United Methodist Church downtown, and (like other places here) you will find programs for EVERY age group! We also participate in many of the programs through the Cary Parks and Rec department - I'm sure you've looked at these things on line. We are a friendly group! Yes it does get hot in the summer - but there are many community swimming pools (and the YMCA) - and the beach is only 2 hours from our front door! We don't have a ton of "tear downs," this is an area with appreciating values. If you work with an agent who knows the area - I'll bet you find what you're looking for, and I'll bet you'd like it here!

Thank you for your comments. I agree with you, and in fact we went there 2 weeks ago to explore - what we are finding is that Cary, Apex and Holly Springs seem to be the area we will prefer, not so much due to anything other than the maturity of the surrounding area and the "feel" of the places. I think so far we would rather trade a home town feel for getting more spacious and newer amenties house in an area that is devoid of trees or the feel of being established - again, not the people but just feel. The school are to us just as important but we met with several county district officials and I guess the best thing are the statistics on the school and meeting the principal!

I hope that moving from Milwaukee to the Apex-Cary-Holly Springs area will afford us many opportunities to become part of the community and contribute to the positive aspects of the area we have been exposed to so much!

We already feel very welcome!

Default Brentwood is a great place to l ive

Holy moly. HORRID? I've lived here 15 years.

Yes, that is quite an exaggeration to the point of ridiculousness.

Visit us. Drive through Brentwood. Visit our web site with its solid shows. (Put the words "love" and "Brentwood" together as a domain name.)

Search for my username on this forum to learn more about Brentwood. If you like large lots, well-built homes, nice landscaping, good people, a beautiful park, and convenience, please check us out -- IF you an find a home for sale. People who move here tend to like it and stay here.

That area has the reputation of being horrid: thugs, gangs, shootings, drugs, woeful schools, ugly billboards, traffic jams that last all day, all-u-can eat buffets, pawn shops, rundown trailers, roach-infested apartments, ignorant people. Like most stereotypes there is a grain of truth and a bushel of exaggeration.

Wow! What a ridiculous indictment of our area. eh?

We have our issues especially Mini-City and New Hope Church Road, but Brentwood's a relatively nice place to live, especially if value is important to you.

Hello all -

Just thought I would let you know how our first 45 days have been - wonderful, crazy, hectic, no furniture, school starting, forms, forms, forms, and above all - great weather and family time!

Hope all of you are having as much fun as we are!
