Yes, the city is getting bigger and has dozens of other restaurants open, but still, this is quite a surprise, especially Tyler's Taproom, which always seemed busy before, during and after Bulls games and DPAC productions. It'll close its doors on April 19. Others to close or that have closed recently are The Little Dipper, Saint and Co., The Boot Italian, Tonali and Blu Seafood.
Tyler’s owner has been working on other projects for the last couple years and supposedly had that location up for sale a year ago so it isn’t too surprising honestly. We have been there many times and enjoyed it but the service was spotty if I’m being honest. Plus they have a huge tap list, but have a weird intersection of random people who just want a Bud and more craft oriented, but don’t serve either super well.
Thanks for the info. I read similar on WRAL just now. Wasn't aware that the Apex & Raleigh locations had closed. The Carrboro location seems to continue to be popular.
Well there's the reason why.... if everyone said that, who is eating there?
Yep! Exactly! I wish I'd gone there more. Though I can't seem to find the reason for closing. I feel like with a location change it would have been so much busier.
