Any advice on decent hotels to stay for two weeks while I’m transitioning? Also I am a single AA mother with three children ages 10-7-& 2 I would appreciate any feedback on neighborhoods to look for a place. Is it racist there? Are there a decent amount of AAs? I’ve been told it’s extremely racist and diversity isn’t welcomed much in N.C. I’m hoping that’s wrong. I already have a job secured but I am still looking for a second one. My 2 yo has autism so any doctors anyone would recommend that specialize... I’m new to this site so I don’t know how it works but thanks in advance ..

You're moving in less than a week with kids and haven't researched neighborhoods, doctors or demographics? Smells like a trollpost.

Yeah, and throw in the "I hear NC is racist" crap and it's got to be a troll.

Not sure what a troll is but I’m moving for work! And if you have nothing positive to say why respond?!

It's not uncommon for mothers and children to need to move quickly if it means getting away from an unhealthy situation. Not saying that's the case here, but there are legitimate reasons that someone may be moving on short notice.

OP, anyone who told you that NC is racist didn't have the Triangle in mind. They're thinking of the rural areas, and more accurately, Hollywood depictions of rural areas. Don't listen to them. You'll be fine here. The Triangle is quite diverse. Do you know where the job is located? That might help narrow down a good place to stay.

Find something close to work because commuting (though not Atlanta bad) gets tiring. And I guess spend a day getting the 10-year-old registered for school.

The area is diverse and you shouldn't have problems based on race.
