I bet there are a lot of people being indirectly affected by the typhoon hitting India. Should we post about it here as well? Everything going on in the world is going to affect people locally.
Comments like this amaze me. There are people locally whose children attend that college. It is only 2.5 hours away after all, a happy compromise for many parents and children. Of course, these same people are impacted and upset. If you are not, move on. There is no need to make rude/snarky comments.

I know right!
I can't tell you how many other children (besides my own) that are now in Charlotte. My daughter actually lives in the same building as the suspect. So yes, it did hit close to home for this CD user and many others especially some of the victims and families from this area!

Hits close to home for our family too. I have two kids at UNCC and one of my kids had a class in the same classroom a few hours earlier in the day.
Yup, UNC-C is a very popular school with local kids, it's a city school and it's a reasonable distance from the Triangle. With the size of the local high schools, I would venture there are close to 50 kids from every graduating class going to Charlotte, and it has become very popular recently for kids who do track and field.
The high school with the largest amount of incoming freshmen last year was Green Hope.
