Good call.

I'm not sponsoring riding a bike to your damn job in RTP or taking a 30 sec shower with your new tankless water heater. How about actually not being a bonehead and actually look at science and our planet's temperatures, the more severe summer and winter weather storms we have and combine it all together.

America only cares about Saudi Arabia (whose values are complete opposite of ours) or producing more oil ourselves and nothing else. Then again, Earth will remain relatively stable in our lifetimes, so who cares.....right?

I would love to have a severe winter storm... I'd be happy just to have gotten
a winter storm this year. The worst winter ever!

They publish six times a day or less. The forecasts are better than wild guesses. The forecasts are based on the best science and computing power available. What training do you have in meteorology, and have you ever worked in the profession? The forecasts are stated in terms of probabilities. People who don't understand probability can take math classes at any university.

It's the same thing with politics, weather, race relations, or whatever other subject you want to argue about. People want to be spoon fed everything, and if the news and weather sources don't oblige, they'll get it from a source that gives them what they want. Without viewers, there are no ads, and without ads, you don't have a business. It's really that simple.

The push for more frequent and detailed forecasting will continue, and whiny people will continue to get bent out of shape when it's not 100% accurate. Once again, I'll say that your best bet is to learn how to interpret the local weather forecast, and how to use the many resources available to you now (weather app, radar now app, a quick step outside to see what's really happening, and a forecast) to make the best choices you can about your day.

I'll tell ya what's painful is watching Elizabeth Gardner try to manage a breaking weather situation on live t.v. Second time in a couple of weeks she's been called on to do this. They need a backup because she is no bueno at it.

Did they all figure out the touchscreen monitors yet? Brad Johansen was there a year and never quite got the hang of it.

NOPE! That's one of her big issues. You'd think after being embarrassed on live t.v. once she'd get with the program but nope yesterday was more confusion. And they weren't really expecting these storms yesterday so that made it worse. Last time Kat Campbell swooped in and saved the day but I guess she wasn't there yesterday.

Also yesterday the (I think) NWS radar was down for some kind of maintenance. It's actually a good thing the stations have their own radar.

It's hilarious watching people think that a major storm with hail and lightening, in the Spring of North Carolina, is because of some sort of global climate change. ...because you know, those never happen.... except every freaking year in my three decades of living in NC. This is quite normal for spring. It's not unique nor special.

The ONLY oddity this year is that is 80%+ of the rain has happened on the weekends. The rain totals are the same as any other year YTD.

The forecasting is the same every spring. These spring popups are hard to predict. It's not unusual in any way. In fact they were pretty spot on. 20% chance of rain when roughly 20% of the viewing area did in fact get rain. I live in Garner and didn't even get hail and the rain last for 20 minutes tops, yet other parts of Garner did including a tornado apparently. That does not make the forecaster "wrong".

Ain’t nobody got time for all that ... lol ... y’all must be retirees .
And if it has to get to that point , then just get rid of the local meteorologists and contract with the weather channel or something . Ridiculous .

@2Loud YES they were wrong when an 10 minute morning downpour was followed by a pretty steady, more on again than off moderate rain, which was the precursor to a hailstorm with torrential rain and wind in west and east Raleigh, despite forecasters telling us there was nothing to worry about with such a small rain percentage ... supercell aside , they were wrong and have been woefully off for the past couple of weeks.

Again . Ridiculous .

Dunno why you’re defending people who get paid “relatively” well to be wrong 60 percent of the time and still keep their jobs .
