WHO decided it was a good idea to rename "carpool lane" ..... the "kiss & go" lane.

I'm not sure if that's just a CHCCS thing or what but that threw me for a loop when I used to have to coordinate after-school transportation. That's a little bit of a cringy moniker.
Seriously? That's more than a little cringy.

Proud to say I have never heard that. Lol.

Must just be a CH thing. I never heard it growing up attending WCPSS....but working with CHCCS for 8 years that's what they called it. If a kid in my program was missing from their bus...administrators would call me back and say "oh so and so got picked up in the Kiss & Go lane by their mom/dad/nanny"

....the....what!?

Not a Chapel Hill thing. Our carpool lanes in Fairfax County, Virginia were called “Kiss and Ride”

I seem to recall that term started popping up at airports as a generic passenger “drop off” not associated with a livery service. Feel free to smooch your Uber driver at RDU, but XXOOs in the bus lane are still Verboten...

Yeah, I just remembered that it's the term used at the DC Metro also. There's the parking section and the Kiss and Ride section.

I've always associated Kiss and Ride with people getting dropped off to take mass transit to work. It is def weird for kids.

I guess it's a little less cringy for mass transit vs elementary school drop-off....still though.

The 5th graders at my daughter's school do Safety Patrol. They open and close the doors for the children getting in and out at carpool and say a cheery 'Have a nice day!' My daughter aspires to be one someday... :-)
