I had totally forgotten about the Neptune's Galley when it was off Western. Loved the raw bar. Never quite the same once they moved.

Daryls, Mr Dunderbaks and the original Fudruckers that was on Wake Forest Rd approximately where TGI Fridays is now. That Fudruckers had the best 1/2 and full loaf onion rings!

Bellini reopened in Macgregor Village shopping center in Cary. We love their lunch buffet.

I just remembered Steak and Ale! That was one of our favorites to eat at.

There used to be a pizza delivery place in the shopping center at Penny Rd and Kildaire Farm Rd called Checkers. We lived off from 1010 when there was literally nothing out there (I lived out there from 1985-1998) and it was the only place that delivered pizza to our place. It was so yummy and we ordered it every Wednesday night (we never went out to eat back then, couldn't afford it). We could get 2 two topping pizzas for $10 + tip. That would give us a couple of meals, though I've never really liked reheated pizza.

Someone mentioned Waverly, and it caused me to remember Spartacus. Their $10 lunch buffet was great!!

And even though it was a chain and probably not enjoyable as I remember, Piccadilly's at the old South Square in Durham made for a nice, affordable family meal before or after shopping there.
Not sure how long ago that was....but now that same spot features Nantucket Grill which is pretty delicious.

Darryl’s was over that way, but not Fuddruckers as far as I can remember (mid-80s). The Fuddruckers in North Raleigh was on Six Forks near Strickland (Chick-fil-a now).

No, there was a Fuddruckers on Wake Forest Rd before the one went in at Six Forks. It was the original, it closed and then a few years later the one on Six Forks opened up. It wasn't nearly as good as I remember the original (which was there in 1984-1985 or so). Darryls was further north, where Walgreens is now.
