I'm looking for a place to rent anywhere IN or NEAR the Triangle area. I have a flexible part-time remote job that pays me $1350/month ($1100/month after taxes). I also have good credit (780). I can put down a ~$2000 security deposit. I have no debts. I also plan on getting another job once I move here. Is it possible for me to find a place to rent in a generally safe area?
I hear landlords generally want 3-4 times the monthly rent. So It seems I won't qualify for any place by myself. What if I share with another roommate? Can I qualify then?
Define "near". If your job is part time, have you considered getting another part time job to earn extra income? How much rent are you paying now? Do you have a car payment or any debt payments?

Furthest I want to be is probably Hillsborough, Fuquay, Garner, Wake forest or Knightdale. I do plan on getting another job once I am able to move to the Triangle area. I have no debts or any payments.
I don't see how you could survive unless you have a total income of at least $2,000 per month. The minimum rent you will find will be somewhere around $500 (probably more), plus utilities, whether thats a super cheap 1 br or half of a very cheap 2 br with a roommate.
You need to rent a room only that includes all expenses. Basically a flat room fee, or even a bed fee. I have done so in the past, normally $250-$300/month for your own bed and shared use of the house. Includes everything...electricity, cable, internet, water, etc.
HI.
I have a nice house, VERY centrally located, in a good neighborhood, halfway between Duke and UNC. I'm close to the interstate, major malls, groceries, etc. and surrounded by running/biking trails and busline. You would have your own furnished room and your own bathroom.
The 3rd room is my office. I work at UNC and have really enjoyed hosting several guys on rotation--1 of whom was fine here without a car. I've also had a couple of other great short-term roommates, like an airline attendant (3 months). I'm looking for a CLEAN, responsible GUY, and my previous short-term roommates would tell you they found a welcoming place with a kind/friendly/open-minded/helpful host. They also benefitted from my cooking No smoking. No pets.$65/week. Washer/dryer, electricity, internet, equipped kitchen, etc. included.

This. Find the job then rent an apartment convenient to the job.

Yeah, it looks like I will have to consider this unless I get another job.

It's not even a consideration, you WILL need to do it...and I would continue doing it while working another job...save your money, then buy a place of your own...rent out the rooms and live for (almost) free. This is how you build wealth at lower incomes.
