There is a sign by Ebenezer Church Road in Raleigh announcing the rezoning of a parcel near Richland Drive. The case number is A-72-19. I've searched but can't locate any info about what is proposed. Anyone know anything about this?
Thanks Mike. Although the case # doesn't agree, that's the property where the notice sign is located. Don't know why a public notice is required for annexation. Five or six lots scattered adjacent to my subdivision (inside Raleigh) were annexed without a hearing.

I emailed the planner and asked if he could provide information. Maybe hear back on Monday?
With annexation, I expect they want city services for denser development.

That makes sense. The individual lots around us were probably annexed individually so they could get city services. City water and sewer were available across the street and it was easy to tap on. The Malik property consists of about 17 acres and looks ripe to be subdivided.

Mike, thanks for doing some legwork on this. I had posted the wrong case #, correct one is A-75-19. I still can't find it listed.
I'm a bit curious as to why a parcel needs Raleigh BOA approval for subdividing it if it's not in the city limits. Maybe because it's within the city ETJ?

Annexation petition implies that they do want the subdivision in the city and to have city services, particularly water and sewer services.
I expect the topography and soils render much of the property unsuitable for onsite septic systems, so to realize the full potential in development requires city services.
Just guessing, but fairly confident about that.
And the lots range mostly from 1/4 to 1/3 acre. Onsite septic would be unlikely on lots that small.
