Yeah, I've seen them around at twilight. Have not seen them this year but in the past I have.
Oh, I’ve seen them.
It’s to the point where if I hear a squeaking sound, I immediately look UP instead of down.
They’ll sometimes be out during the day, but you’re more likely to see them at dusk or dawn.
We see bats at night around 7pm flying around, we also found one in our inground pool skimmer, gross I know. Fingers crossed nothing attempting to make entry in our eaves/attic.
Our neighbor had issues with bats nesting in the eaves.
Right now we have a woodpecker terrorizing the neighborhood, not in our trees but the metal caps on our chimneys...crazy how he/she is pecking at metal...no idea why...hopefully not making a nest, too high up to see, even with binoculars...still monitoring this...
Not sure if they are still there, but a couple of years ago there was a huge group of bats that lived in the old brick tower right near Cary High School (it may be on the actual campus). In the evenings you could see them, swarming all over the place - had to be hundreds of them flying around at a time, if not more.
The worst place to encounter bats, at least for me, is inside
an abandoned building where it is pitch dark. I kept thinking
I was walking through spider webs. Once I started using my flash
I found out what I was feeling were bats brushing past me...

Ok that's cool and terrifying at the same time
Many years ago, I was at a friend's house in the woods and went out to have a cigarette. I kept feeling that wooshing too, and only after I went inside did they tell me that it was bats that were attracted to the light on my cigarette.
Bats are seasonal but once they settle in, they tend to stay for several month.....and make a mess. I'd think that you would have a constant issue with the dung if it were due to bats.
Had similar droppings under some attic vents above my garage. Just sit in your car one night for 30-60 minutes with a view of the part of the house that's above the cans. You'll see bats quickly exiting wherever they get in/out around sundown. I did this a few weeks ago and counted at least 7 of them coming out around 8:30-8:45 pm. Now just waiting a few more weeks and will try to rig somethig like you see here https://www.thisoldhouse.com/ideas/h...ats-your-house
