Looks like phase 1 is finally done. I'm hoping this helps reduce traffic near the intersection of Aviation Parkway and 54. Ever since they closed down McCrimmon near 54 traffic has been so much worse than usual.

Traffic on 54 in that area will always suck. They can't widen it cause of the train tracks right?
I thought they were going to build a bridge over NC-54 and the railroad tracks and reroute McCrimmon Parkway to the north of the gas station through where Triangle Landscape Supplies is located, did the cost kill that, or is that still on the table for the long term?
MORRISVILLE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close multiple lanes of Aviation Parkway at the Evans Road intersection beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9.
Drivers in both directions will share one lane. Law enforcement and flaggers will be directing traffic throughout the weekend work as an NCDOT contractor performs water line work as a part of the McCrimmon Parkway extension from Airport Boulevard to Aviation Parkway.
All lanes should reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12.
Motorists should avoid the area, if possible. As always, drivers should proceed through the work zone with extreme caution and allow extra time to reach their destination. There will be no detour.

That’s still moving forward, but it’s a different project slated to start in a few years.
