My children haven't had any issues yet. One's about to be a senior and has done all her standardized testing, so I'm hopefully assuming she's basically done. The younger one is about to be a freshman and she's done fine so far.

I'm not saying this because I think the schools here are subpar, I'm saying it cause there's always a way to make it happen if you really want.
Really???

UNC-Charlotte (or just "Charlotte" for the newbies) is growing as a STEM program. NC A&T is also good.

Maybe not now. But back in the recession days foreclosures were taking forever because the banks were overwhelmed. But you know that. No clue what it's like today.

hahaha I figured that was most likely the case....

AOIT= Academy Of Information Technology

"nerd herd"......and the reason AHS usually performs very well in national DECA competitions.

DECA = Distributive Education Clubs of America

And yeah...Cougars are the mascot

Default High Schools Very Competitive Here Too

Hello! There are a lot of areas where your budget will fit. For Cary & Apex highly regarded public High schools are Panther Creek, Green Hope, Green Level (new school but same student pool as others), Apex HS & Apex Friendship. Wake Forest & Holly Springs have good schools too as well as magnet schools in Raleigh. Will say they are all very competitive academic high schools and don’t guarantee entry into local state universities. My daughter just graduated from Panther Creek, she had a 4.2 gpa & 1270 on her SAT’s very involved in school and sports. We applied early by November 1st deadline & She was denied admission at both UNC Chapel Hill & NC State - crazy! The SAT/ACT scores need to be just as high as the gpa to get in from a Wake County high school. We all hear the stories but there was actually a student from Panther Creek this year that got into Harvard but denied at UNC Chapel Hill. Your daughter may do better not going to a 10/10 school for college admissions if you move here. Don’t overlook Chatham or Johnston county. Hope that helps! We originally moved from Philly suburbs and love it in NC! ;-)

a foreclosure still takes a long time, if the owner wants it to. The comment was wondering why anyone would give someone else the advice to default on their obligations.

Oh...gotcha. Yeah I'm thinking absolute last ditch effort to let my kids finish out high school without transition.

Looks like OP is all over the map in her inquiries; Triangle, Charlotte, Dallas, and Boston.

Probably need to narrow some stuff down first.
