I grew up in the Midwest (mid-size town of around 100K). Brought back some good elementary school day memories of getting up extra early, on my own actually, to listen to the radio to hear the cancellations. Oh, the anticipation.... like Christmas morning!

That was the best - except when you invariably got distracted by something just as they were about to read your school district so you had to listen to them go 'round the list again. I used to wait until my kids were going to bed to tell them but now with social media they know everything when I do since WCPSS calls every number in Wake County, tweets, texts, sends a carrier pigeon and smoke signals along with alerting the media.
WCPSS used to wait a little longer to cancel school than they do now but people got really annoyed at the last minute Larry stuff. As we know you can't please everyone. With the size of the district they need to let the bus drivers know the day before if possible since some routes start as early as 6 a.m. Not really fair to expect them to get up at 5 a.m. and get on their way to their bus and then cancel (although it's happened).
There are people all over the world that have it far far worse than you at all times, but it's not on the news. You must never complain or be agitated by anything. Impressive.

Were talking about the effects of one storm, not “all over the worldâ€. Sarcasm doesn’t make your point any stronger.
I get that you don't think school is important. I disagree with you about that.
...and here's the problem with the internet. Quite the leap you made there to make a point! Never said school is not important. Nor do I believe that. Sooooo where did you pull that from? Whats the big deal of missing a day of school is not exactly the same as "You don't think education is important!". ...Seriously? Dude seriously that's a moon shot sized leap. Kinda lame actually.
