Hello everyone!!!
We are currently living in Fort Lauderdale but we are relocating to Raleigh within the next month and a half. My husband office is located in Garner. We have never been to Raleigh before but we are taking a trip next week to check the area and hopefully find a house. We are in our middle 30's and have two boys 5 and 3 year old. What areas/neighborhoods can we check that are safe, family friendly, community with a pool? A backyard is a must since we have little people that needs to get some energy out! Great schools is a must and no more than a 30 min commute? We will be renting for a year before committing to buying. Budget is $2200 or less. Thank you so much for all the help!

"30 minute commute."

Where in Garner?
Some areas of Johnston County have Garner mailing addresses, so Garner can be a widespread area.
You need to take that into account when considering commute.

if the 30 minute commute is firm, and the commute is during rush hour (or two),
then i say Garner. Raleigh can take 30 minutes to go 11 miles. yes, it happens
often enough to be posting about it. F-V is less than 30 minutes but more miles.

We were looking Cary and we really like it. How bad is the commute?

I’d consider looking in the “triangle” formed between Garner, Fuquay-Varina, and Clayton. There are numerous family-friendly neighborhoods with nice yards and good schools in that area for your price point.

What field does your husband work in, and does he see himself working for this company in Garner long term?
