Does anyone have any extra information on the new townhouse and SFH community for the southeast corner of 55 and and NC 540 toll, just south of the northbound entrance to 540? Pretty much right across the street to the future (if it ever opens) Whole Foods on 55.

It was nicknamed The Brickyard, after the former brick manufacturing site. The BizJournal article said it was Lennar Homes, but a recent IMAPs check says it's now owned by Meritage Homes of the Carolines, LLC.

Any word on opening date, community center, etc? I can't get through to any phone numbers for the last week.

"The Brickyard"? ...... That doesn't seem like a West Cary approved neighborhood name. Was pretty sure bylaws state anything west of 55 has to have faux-British, faux-French, or faux-Italian names or at the very least contain no less than 4 words.

"The Estates at Brickshire Commons" ought to be a an acceptable revision.

It's east of 55 by about 10 feet - that explains it!

LOL I was thinking the same thing about the Brickyard. Maybe it will be made of bricks to enhance the echo effect of the cars 10 feet away on the 540 entrance ramp.

That is funny! But Cary has been known to break the rules, I live west of 55 and my development only has a one word name. Possibly faux-British.

I think it was just nicknamed The Brickyard due to the brick plant that was there. Here's an old articl from 2014 about it, and it says Lennar bought the land. But iMaps now shows Meritage homes.

Well, it looks like Lennar never actually owned the properties, for whatever reason, and Triangle Brick sold directly to Meritage in 2015.

We know, everyone in here is just making fun of the name because it seems non-Caryish.
