We have out-of-town guests coming to stay with us next Friday for the weekend. Any suggestions for fun activities, preferably in the Chapel Hill/Pittsboro/Durham area? I am sure all the teens will be home playing video games so the activities don't have to be kid-friendly. Thanks.

Too late to get tickets to the World Beer Festival in Moore Square. . . . downtown Raleigh. . . . unless you can find some on Craig's List.

Thanks but that doesn't appeal to me. I'm not a beer drinker.

It's not in the geographic area you asked for, but the Spring Daze arts & crafts festival is in Cary on Saturday.

Again, not in the area you requested - and maybe not of interest, but the Southern Women's Show is this weekend:

Unfortunately, I don't think there's as much going on this weekend as there was last weekend.

Chapel Hill is having their Earth Day events this weekend (I think everyone else held them last weekend).

You could go on a guided tour of the NC Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill (I've been wanting to do this myself ).

Are there any civil war history buffs in the group? They might enjoy seeing downtown Hillsborough or the Bennet House in Durham.

And of course, there are the museums in the area like the Nasher at Duke. There are a few plays showing right now, but I suspect you won't want to dedicate 2 nights of your guests' visit watching "Angels in America".

There is the Cool Jazz Festival in Orange County on Saturday

Its outdoors, its free (just $3 to park) and its in a beautiful setting.

We went last year and really enjoyed it.
