One of the best schools in the state for special needs kids is called The Fletcher Academy. My daughter has attended there for three years, and she is currently 17 years old and in the eleventh grade. It is located in North Raleigh, and they will be opening a second campus downtown (beside Peace College) next year if I'm not mistaken. It's been wonderful for my daughter.

There is another special needs school here called The Trilogy School, but I am not as familiar with it. It is also in North Raleigh.

The Wake County Public School System is unable to deal with special needs children, so don't waste your time there.

I suggest you join the Autism Society of North Carolina Wake County Chapter Facebook page and ask there. It is largely populated by parents of children with autism living in that area.

And if you can't find a school that fits or you can afford you can homeschool, as I did. Worked out very well. Lots of social opportunities.
