I doubt they are gonna kick off the project anytime soon. People don't want this missing section as badly as the Evan road. When Louis Stephen Dr extension is finished, they only need to drive five more minutes through it to Little dr, then enter the West Cary across Parkside Common. Since one connection is not too far away, there's no need to build another one. Also the project will diminish the farm and wild animals living with it.
Morrisville residents just enjoy staying inside 540 for now.

Impacts to the farm are a foregone conclusion at this point. The idea of any farms remaining long term inside of 540 except for those explicitly preserved by some sort of deeded easement (like Phillips Farm, I think?) is just not going to happen.
The only thing holding this comnection back is money. It is likely, almost certain in fact, that most of the connection (possibly except the bridge over the railroad) will eventuallu be built by developers, as the farms redevelop into subdivisions.
That feasibility study was important because it shows future developers where they should build the road when they build their developments.

Yes, no farm can survive inside 540 unless being preserved. Phillips Farm and Green Hope Farm are exceptions because they belong to Carpenter Historic District. https://www.townofcary.org/home/show...ument?id=15936

If by Green Hope Farm, you mean Green Acres, I’ve got some news for you and you may want to sit down.
Traffic lights have been hung up at the crossing of Louis Stephen Dr. and Mccrimmon Pkwy. It means something.
