We are looking to live around the Raleigh area. I have done Production Supervision, Maintenance, and sanitation in many food production plants. Which area would have these types of facilities? I have heard in the past it is hard to get a job without living in the area first. I am hoping that is not the case. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

It's the same amount of hard finding a place to live without a job. The luck of it is you applying somewhere and the hiring person is from your original state and things get rolling. Or any other things. You could get hired and rent a coworkers room as they figure you passed a background check.

I first thought of Jones Sausage, but it is no longer under that name. Do a Google search on "food production Raleigh NC" and you will see a map of northeast Raleigh that include LC Foods, L Buddy Food Inc, Rice Wrap Foods Inc, Utz Quality Foods and a few others.

Smithfield NC has both the Carolina Packers and Stevens Sausage companies located in town.

Would you be interested in working for the city? Some of your skills may transfer to a storm water or utilities position. Also, isn't there a Butterball operation somewhere near? Don't forget Cargill...
