Apparently, this is a pilot design.

The DOT has way too much confidence in drivers’ ability to handle something like this.

Oh gosh, some guy at the Regional Transportation Alliance has been pushing this for a while now. I guess we'll see what happens. I personally am not a huge fan conceptually but whatever, I work nearby so I'll try it out sometime and maybe I'll change my mind.

Also, just watched the video and is are the dual left-turn lanes just going to have one signal head for both lanes?

people have enough trouble 'round here with left turns, never seen anything like it. This should be interesting.

There are people who stop at the flashing yellow that I have to drive around so I can turn. All this extra shid isn't helping.

That is an understatement.

They have these in FL. I find them really nice to use.

I do not believe whatever you saw in Florida is the same. Could you indicate a location so we can check it? Our information is this will be the first in the country with this concept.

Locals will adapt but what about the visitors. Not that big an issue in the triangle I guess but I can only imagine the mess something like this would cause in an Orlando (M Mouse) area where a 1/3 of the drivers are from somewhere else.

I saw they were changing the lane painting at the Tryon/Cary Pkwy intersection. I knew something different was happening, just wasn't quite sure what was going on.

I guess I don't see the point. During low traffic times, one of the turn lanes is deactivated. Okay, what's the benefit to that?
