I now see where CDC is wanting 1 side cotton and the other side tee shirt knit. The flannel idea was just too hard to breathe through and held too much moisture. There is a nation-wide run on elastic. Hard to find so I'm using up a bunch of bias binding just sewn together.
The idea is to free up the REAL masks for treating ill patients so some clinics, doc offices, etc need these if they are to donate their ppe to more serious situations.
I now have a long list from all over the country of such places who are accepting homemade masks. My group and I are wanting to help supply NC first and there is a lot of need.
There are so many patterns out there. Some leave a place to insert some non woven disposable filter. I even watched a video of a woman who cut up a AC filter, ironed it smooth with pressing cloth and cut it up for use as a filter. Someone asked me if these AC filter have fiberglass. I don't know.
I have a good assembly line going. One teenager cutting the fabric, I sew, another teen cuts all the loose threads. We are keeping busy and trying to help.

Hi no Kudzu. come to find out family in Tennessee whose hospital address I'd sent you, in case y'all in Chapel Hill could also ship hand made masks to her and colleagues in East Tennessee, told me someone in Fort Loudon radiology STOLE some of their supply chain N95's for their own self. What in the living heck is up with that?!?!?!?!? So again, if y'all knit an extra bit that you could ship out of state, Fort Loudon, TN -- they would most definitely appreciate it. thanks. Mike
