I just thought of something I have wanted to know for a few years.
In the winter I see these beautiful bushes in the shopping centers that
have lots off small rose like blooms. Does anyone know what they are??
I have seen them at Panara Bread at Noth Hills and Kohls on Falls of the Neuse.

No, because I know what camelias are . These are only about 2 ft high and have smaller blooms.

Hmm sounds like Camelia to me as well. I'm sure you know what camelias are, but some are double bloomed and some are single bloomed and look like hibiscus. Those are the only winter blooming shrubs I can think of...I'll try and stop by to see what those bushes are tomorrow.

HEre's a plant that references CHristmas rose, and seems to be the correct size.

They may be "knock-out" roses. They bloom for a very long time and are pretty easy to grow I understand. Just bought one myself as in one of these threads someone stated that even if you never were able to grow roses (that would be me) you can with this type.

Oh, goodness, don't tell that to the camellias in my yard. They are about 6 feet high and the blooms are about 4 inches across!

When I said "these are 2ft" I meant the shrub I am trying to ID is 2 ft.
Okay guys, I don't know what the shrub is that I am asking about ,but I do know it is not a camellia of any type.

Once I actually saw a rose that bloomed on Christmas in cold weather. I know it was a rose because I have studied Horticulture. It was interestingly enough at a Mental Hospital.
What you saw was probably a hybrid of Hellebores aptly named "Christmas Rose".
