We also looked into both for our lanai, and decided on windows. Glad we did. Over time, ez breeze gets brittle and yellows. If you’re there long enough to have to replace them, you’ve paid the difference for glass. IMO, ez breeze is good where glass may break, like near a golf course, or if you want to roll it down only for protection From the elements like on a ship or outdoor patio.
Installers leave the roof & load bearing posts and install windows with transom and a new storm door.

It’s comfortable on a nice day with the windows open, and just as nice closed if it’s too hot or cold or rainy.

Whom did you use to install windows?

Consider Window world and Eco view. Both of them have good reviews and use quality products. I haven't used them though.

Champion, Window World, and EcoView sell only replacement windows.
Andersen sells both new construction and replacement windows.
I would suggest to anyone adding new windows to a porch to use new construction windows, similar to what were originally used in the rest of the home. Consistency and continuity.

Alternatively, my preference as expressed in the EZBreeze thread:

Maximum glass and excellent ventilation.
The OP is really in need of a referral to a good carpenter or GC for the project, with permits to be pulled.

I have EZ Breeze around my 3 season room that the builder put in (house built in 2018). It's better than just open or screened as it does keep rain and pollen out.

However, we are about to start the process of changing our room to an enclosed room with HVAC and will be replacing the EZ breeze with windows. Nothing against the EZ Breeze, it's just that the 3 season room was more like a 2 season room and we don't use that space for its potential.

Windows from Champion, Window World, and EcoView etc looked exactly similar to the windows used in the hose with better ratings UV, Heat etc for the glass they use. There are so many choices if you want to

Which way construction windows are different?

New construction windows have nailing flanges to seal against framing.
Replacement windows just slip into the opening with no flange, but fastened through the vinyl jamb.
Maybe 8-10 fasteners, and depending on insulation to seal the window, with exterior finish more difficult if used in a new project situation.

Replacement windows only look the same to the untrained eye. I can tell a house has replacement windows from the street.

Yes, there is a huge assortment and diversity of quality in new construction windows. For sure.

I read the 2020 recent posts on Ez-breeze vs. Glass. We're going through the same question on the covered porch.

Got quote for Ez-Breeze at $6500 and glass windows 2x that ($13k). Is that a reasonable price point for EZ-breeze vs. glass windows in the Triangle area?
