As Amazon is no longer the cheapest place to buy from, it really is a convenience buy for me these days.
Except for Costco and groceries, I rarely find prices cheaper than Amazon. What am I missing?

What kind of dog & harness are that hard to fit? Most harnesses are very adjustable. I always liked Sporn harnesses. They work well with dogs that like to pull.
The dog is 100% mutt from a rescue (in early march after a month long search).. The vet, groomer and the rescue group have no freaking idea of what she is. We just know she's a great dog. The 2nd and 3rd harness is a "3 in 1 Harness". It has loops in front, back and one for the doggie seatbelts. She is totally in the middle of sizing.
(Sorry to go OT, but Don asked. . And the dog is my favorite topic of conversation. )
I don't really get the point of the store either. Looking at pictures, it looks kind of like a Best Buy or Barnes & Noble. Maybe the draw will be having it in malls where there isn't already a store just like that? Are the things sold there cheaper than buying them with Amazon Prime?

It gets them access to a large market that maybe otherwise wouldn’t purchase online. Maybe it’s also a distribution channel too. Use some stores as a warehouse of sorts of the most popular products and have associates in the store fulfill orders and ship them out directly. A warehouse that generate some revenue?
I dunno. I’m sure there’s some internal #’s that may support this move.
Amazon has plenty of failures with new ideas/industries. I remembered Amazon Eats and Amazon Local Deals getting flushed down the toilet. A quick Google search turned up many more. https://www.thestreet.com/investing/...lures-13364106
It's really surprising that they are trying brick and mortar retail again - they discontinued their retail pop up store plans quite some time ago.

We can always go off topic for dogs and Amazon will probably sell them soon enough
Someone in my neighborhood got a golden retriever puppy and I'm obsessed with this dog. Finally met it the other night while walking my dog and the puppy came over and snuggled right up to him (which my dog wasn't having, unfortunately). This little dog's tail is ALWAYS wagging a mile a minute.

"Large market"??? Isn't that group of folks mostly old? As in dying off?
One thing retail has going for it that online has a hard time achieving: spur of the moment purchases. I go into a store to buy underwear. On my way to the checkout, I see a sweater I just have to buy. Or those racks of gum, candy bars, tic tacs, etc at the grocery store checkout.

I feel like people outside of larger metros aren’t as prone to online ordering.
I think it's amusing Crabtree is welcoming in the very thing that's killing malls.
