I have been donating blood to the Blood Connection, but, someone told me about plasma donation via Grifols. I was wondering if anyone has had experience donating to them?

- I know the initial visit is long and sounds like the testing, if your a viable candidate, is a couple of 90-min visits. Once you get through the onboarding portion, how long does a typical plasma donation take (once they stick you)? I understand plasma donation is longer than blood donation & I know this varies by person but looking for an approximate time.
- Sounds like their centers are first come/first served. Is this something that can be done on lunch breaks or is it a constant crowd situation like, say, the DMV, where peak is most of the day?
- It states you can make up to $200/month; but, then they also talk about the frequency you can donate (2x per week; 48 hrs in between). How much do you earn each visit?

Thanks!

If you are concerned about how much you'll get paid, you should contact them directly. Generally speaking you can donate blood more frequently than you can plasma, at least that has been my experience with Red Cross.

Not judging, but I believe in donating to help those in need and I have always given in the bloodmobile when it came to my office. I got paid an apple juice and a granola bar.

Actually, it's the opposite I think. Roughly, 28 days between plasma donations, 54 days for whole blood.

I agree with you on the non-profit, help your neighbor rationale. But I had orange pineapple juice on my visit last week. (PSA: Covid has decreased donations DRAMATICALLY. If you can donate, please consider going.)

Yep you are 100% correct, my bad. At my office they just show up and I go, I never really paid attention to the frequency.

Somehow I don't think "donation" is the right word here.
