Hello! We were former Wake County residents from 2007-2017. We're considering moving back to the West Cary area and would be assigned to Pleasant Grove Elementary School. We had a brief experience with Alston Ridge Elementary and really liked the school.

Any thoughts or experiences on Pleasant Grove Elementary, especially as compared to Hortons Creek, Mills Park or Alston Ridge?

Thanks!

My friend toured the school and really liked it, but got into a YR school. It has a really weird base map, so I'm not sure if that affects engagement for the school. You're in West Cary, but my friend lived in North Raleigh off of Ray Road. I couldn't find a current base map of the school, but the main complaints I hear are that the school seems to be out of the way in an odd location.

Here's the base map for next year. I don't see any place remotely close to west Cary zoned for this school.

I believe Pleasant Grove was designated as the overflow school for Hortons Creek next year.

Ah, that makes sense, yeah they don't want to make the overflow schools attractive distance-wise.

That's correct. We were looking in the Amberly area.

Any feedback on the quality of the education, teachers, etc? Greatschools only gives it a 3/10.

I'd be more concerned with the trip over there than the greatschools rating. You sure you can't find a house zoned for Alston Ridge?

Alston Ridge ES is capped, I believe.
