We ate outside at Glory Days in Apex last weekend - server wore a mask but can't remember if gloves. Gloves don't impress me anyway, you'd have to change them every time you touch something contaminated anyway.

I am ok with no gloves, most don't use them properly anyway. Handling food one minute then touching well-used door handles and counters the next, or even cash registers. Too much thinking for most.

I got a big problem with those whose job it is to do it right but still cannot make the very little leap of intelligence to carry dishes to tables in a sanitary manner, CV19 or no CV19.

Why are people hesitant to eat indoors? I think you spend the same amount of time in a indoor supermarket. Is there any evidence showing outdoor eating is safer then indoor?

Yes. Any activity done outdoors has a lower risk of virus transmission than the same activity done indoors, assuming all other variables are the same (Distance between people, elapsed time, etc.)

If you’re going to do it, Sims recommends asking for a table that’s not in a high traffic area such as near the entrance or bathrooms.

Fecal cloud alert:

and those Dyson hand air dryers often located very near a toilet with no lid, in many dining places!

If that's true for you, you take an inordinately long time to shop. But if you're a male over the age of 65, I wouldn't be surprised if that's true.

I also sit in one place when i eat indoors, generally with the same people near me for the entire or almost the entire time. When I grocery shop, I don't linger near other people. Especially now.
