I don't mean to be an a$$, but why don't you just call your bank and ask? I can't believe we have a thread asking how to get change - this is why we still have bank branches.

That was addressed in the first post...bank is just giving "we're busy" messages.

That's what the OP is trying to do, but would like to be armed with information about the proper way to do it.

This thread reminds me of binge-watching Seinfeld for hours.....

"A show about nothing."

My fault - I missed it. Apologies.

By that you mean nothing to see. Is it my fault we're in the 21st century and people are asking me to use 20th century technology to solve a problem? Or maybe I should say 19th century technology. No Wikipedia says the first bank drive thru was 1930.

There are a few restaurants where I tip with credit card but sometimes add a few dollars in cash extra. When the lobby was open I would just go in and get $20 worth. But as I've said already, I don't do drive thrus.

Is that a rule, like you just won't do them? You won't just drive up to it and see what the deal is?

There's no shame in not being familiar with using a bank drive-thru. I've never used one either and I'm not all that young anymore. It's even been several years since I last used an ATM. And I've set foot in my bank maybe five times in the past decade, mostly for occasional notary services.

I've never used a bank drive thru either, that's why I have no advice about doing it aside from just to try it. I bet the people working there get questions from people who don't know how to do what they want to do every day.
