Can/do chigger bites start to get larger/raised/blistered and itch a day after you get them? Ours started as little dots the day we got home. Now (two days later) they are dark red with raised blistered centers, and itch like crazy! That's what's stumping me.

And do you ever see the chiggers? We never saw anything actually bite us, yet got 15 bites combined!

You don't see Chiggers bite you. They also tend to bite in clusters. Image search Chigger Bites. All the result pics should tell you immediately if it was a Chigger.

Definitely seems like that's what it could be. Ours our not necessarily clusters though. I have two right next to each other on my ankle, but all the rest on me and my wide are spread out and single

I didn't.

"Chigger bites" is not a guess; it was diagnosed by my doctor.

Thanks. Were yours all in clusters or did you have some that were single/isolated? We don't really have clusters. They are mostly single bites. All mine on my legs and thighs. All my wife's on her back

I would say chiggers too. Did you walk through any grassy areas? My husband's turn into red blotches on his legs - they look terrible. When they get me, I just itch madly.

Not clusters. Spread all over my belly. Similar to chicken pox but I had chicken pox during childhood.

We were mostly in a cleared campsite, but did go off into some slightly grassy areas a few times.

What's confusing is I have some on my thighs (which were covered by shorts) and my wife has them on her back (covered by a shirt)

And most of them are single isolated bites, not clusters or blotches

They have no problems going up pants or shorts. That tells me it was chiggers.
